Because of the generous family and community members of Redwood City, our schools are strong and getting stronger. API scores continue to climb, with 10 out of our 16 schools now scoring at 700 or above, and three schools above 800. The Redwood City Education Foundation was able to contribute to these incredible gains by raising nearly $300,000 last year, another record. This is money now going directly to our children through music, science, and wellness programs. Our goal now is to raise $350,000, or $40 per student to continue this trend of success in 2007/08. If we exceed our goal, we can expand our services next year by adding funding for visual and performing arts, greater access to music instruction, and physical activity programs. You can help us provide these vital programs—programs that are not supported by ongoing state or federal funding. Together we can create more opportunities for our children! When you give, you make a powerful statement about your commitment to our children and the importance of public education in our community. And your donations encourage major funders, such as the Steve and Anita Westly Foundation and the Kaiser Foundation, to give even more generously to help fund our programs for educational excellence. Last year, the SEED fund accounted for more than a third of our total income. Our children rely on you to help us provide the programs they deserve through your annual gift to the SEED fund. To support their continued achievement , we are asking you to consider making your gift to our SEED fund today. You can already see steady improvement in test scores and academic progress in our schools. With your help, our children can reach even greater levels of achievement. Their future, and ours, depends on it. Please make your donation today!
