WHO WE ARE

About

The Redwood City Education Foundation is an independent nonprofit that partners with Redwood City School District, families, educators, businesses, foundations, and community partners to strengthen public education across Redwood City.

Our mission is to cultivate community resources to promote equitable education, reduce barriers to engagement, and support the success of underserved TK–8 public school students in Redwood City.

Founded in 1983 by parents and community members in response to reductions in local property-tax funding for schools, RCEF has evolved alongside the needs of our community. Today, guided by a volunteer Board of Directors and professional staff, we prioritize deeper investment in schools with greater needs and more limited access to additional resources.

RCEF raises funds during each fiscal year, August 1–July 31, to support programs and priorities for the following school year. We work with RCSD, school leaders, Community Schools, educators, and families to understand needs and guide investment decisions.
